Purpose

West Sussex County Council
supports individuals and families arriving in the UK through
various government schemes and is responsible for a range of
support services for these households and for assisting with
securing permanent accommodation. Temporary accommodation may be
needed whilst seeking longer term solutions. This is fully funded
via the Home Office.
 
This report seeks approval from
the Assistant Director (Communities) to increase the authority to
spend on contracts for temporary accommodation by the Refugee
Resettlement and Migration Service, from the amount approved in the
previous key decision to a new total of £5m by or before
31st December 2025.  The
funding has been provided by the Government.
 

Decision

The Assistant Director (Communities) has
approved the direct award of contracts, as outlined in Section 2 of
this report, to a total value not exceeding £5m (Central
Government Funded) by 31st December 2025.
