Addressing Tutor Shortages in Further Education

RESOLVED: – That the Investment Board, subject to conditions, in reference to 4.17 of the report:

1. Approved the change request to the Addressing Tutor Shortages in Further Education scheme to increase delivery timescales from 31 December 2026 to 31 March 2029.

1. Approved the change request to the Addressing Tutor Shortages in Further Education scheme to change the project scope to remove the construction sector from the Industry Partnership Coordination workstream whilst leaving the engineering and manufacturing sectors within scope.

1. Approved the change request to the Addressing Tutor Shortages in Further Education scheme to increase the outputs as set out in the report.

1. Approved that future approvals for the Addressing Tutor Shortages in Further Education scheme are made in accordance with the assurance pathway, approval route and tolerances set out in the Business Case Summary attached to the report.

Construction Skills Capital

RESOLVED: – That the Investment Board, subject to conditions, in reference to 4.30 and 4.31 of the report:

1. Approved that the Construction Skills Capital scheme proceeds through Decision Point 2 to 4 (Business Justification Case) and that work commences on Activity 5 (Delivery).

1. Approved Combined Authority funding of up to £6,730,042, with the total scheme cost being £6,730,042.

1. Approved that future approvals for the Construction Skills Capital scheme are made in accordance with the assurance pathway and tolerances set out in the Business Case Summary attached to the report.
