Purpose

To appoint an
Interim Section 151 Officer for the period 24 December 2024 to 3
February 2025, to ensure the Council meets the legal requirement
outlined in Section 151 of the Local Government Act
1972.

Decision

The Executive Leader (Portfolio
Holder for Economic Development and Regeneration):-

 

(1)    
approves the interim appointment
of the Assistant Director – Finance, John McDonald, into the
Section 151 Officer position, for the period 24 December 2024 to 3
February 2025; and

(2)    
requests the decision be ratified
by the full Council at its next meeting on Wednesday 22 January
2025; and

(3)    
requests the recommendation to
appoint the new Director – Finance and Legal, Sarah Johnston,
as Section 151 Officer effective from 3 February 2025, is also
considered by full Council at its next meeting on Wednesday 22
January 2025.
