Purpose

Wigan Council are undertaking an ambitious programme of works at
Haigh Woodland Park and this contract forms part of a wider
programme of investment.
This contract relates to the Plantation Gates, which are located
immediately adjacent to Wigan Lane (A5209), which is an important
and busy main road link from the north into Wigan town centre and
includes regular bus services with bus stops located both north and
south of the Gates.

Decision

 The Portfolio
Holder – Communities and Neighbourhoods
authorises:-

(1)        
the appointment of the Contractors
identified in the report to undertake the refurbishment of the
Haigh Plantation gates and lodges on the terms described in the
report;

(2)        
the delegation of authority to the
Director – Strategy and Innovation to take all steps
necessary to facilitate the delivery of the contract, including but
not limited to, any permitted contract modifications or variations;
and

(3)        
the delegation of authority to the
Assistant Director – Legal Governance and Elections to enter
into any agreements on behalf of the Council necessary to
facilitate the above.
