Purpose

The purpose of this report is to seek approval for the
Council’s acceptance of grant funding from GMCA and the
associated delivery of The Greater Manchester 5G SMART
Decarbonisation Network (GM 5G SDN) project

Decision

 The Director – Strategy and
Innovation:-
 

(1) 
authorises the Council’s
participation in the Greater Manchester 5G SMART Decarbonisation
Network (GM 5G SDN) project;

(2) 
Authorises the Council to enter a
grant funding agreement as part of Wigan’s participation in
the Greater Manchester 5G SMART Decarbonisation Network (GM 5G SDN)
project;

(3) 
delegates authority to the
Assistant Director – Digital Transformation to represent the
Council on the Programme Board;

(4) 
accepts the funding allocation
awarded by GMCA; and

(5)  
authorises the Assistant Director
Legal, Governance and Elections on behalf of the Council to enter
into any agreements necessary to facilitate (2) and (4).
