Purpose

Tender for the works to upgrade the communal areas of 2
Sheltered Housing schemes within Wigan Council’s housing
portfolio. The schemes are 19 Westfield Road, Atherton, and
Samswood House at Ashton-in-Makerfield. We will be advertising this
opportunity contractors who have expressed an interest from within
Lot 9 of the Fusion21 Building Improvements Framework.

Decision

The Portfolio Holder – Housing and Welfare is requested to
authorise:
 

(1)      
the appointment of the contractor identified and the contract sums
described in the report for the delivery of the refurbishment of
the 2 schemes at Westfield Road and Samwoods House;

(2)      
budget approval of the total scheme cost as identified in the
report and recommend that the sheltered general capital budget be
updated accordingly;

(3)      
delegation of authority to the Director of Place, to approve any
cost variation from those costs described in the report, within the
financial envelope set out in the report; and

(4)      
the Assistant Director – Legal Governance and Elections enter
into any  documentation necessary to give effect
to above.
