Purpose

Report on the proposed Sheltered housing refurbishment and
investment programme April 2024

Decision

The Portfolio Holder for Housing and Welfare:-
 

(1)     
notes the proposed sheltered housing investment programme as
described in the report, the delivery of which is subject to
further approvals;

(2)     
authorises the commencement of the feasibility stage works on the
Phase 1 schemes identified in the report and to release feasibility
budget requirements – the individual appointment of
consultants will be subject to further approvals;

(3)     
approves the consultation and engagement strategy for the
programme, appended to the report;

(4)     
authorises the statutory public consultation with tenants in the
Phase 1 schemes identified in the report in accordance with the
Housing Act 1985 and all other enabling legislation; and

(5)     
approves that voids are to be held for a 6-month period in each
scheme identified in the Phase 1 programme prior to works starting
and approves a 12-month period of sensitive let prior to this time
to allow as much work as possible to take place.
