Purpose
The Community Equipment Store supply equipment to prevent
Hospital Admission and allow Hospital Discharge, often under
incredibly tight deadlines. We also provide equipment to allow
people to live independently within their own homes, delivering
equipment for Health and Social Care Services.
We require suppliers to deliver equipment reliably and at an
economical price for Wigan Residents. To maintain our service of
32% of deliveries being delivered the day of request, we need our
supplier of ADL equipment to hold and deliver equipment on time.
This allows us to maintain our current level of deliveries.
Currently we deliver 90% of equipment prescriptions within 3
working days.
Decision
The Portfolio Holder – Adult
Social Care (Deputy Leader) authorises:
(1)
the award of Wigan Council’s Contract for the provision of
community equipment to the selected supplier identified in the
report and on the terms described; and
(2)
the Assistant Director – Legal, Governance and Elections on
behalf of the Council to enter any agreements necessary to
facilitate point (1).
