Purpose
Waste services are seeking a decision to appoint a supplier to
provide two wheeled bins to Wigan Council for one year, with the
option to extend for two separate periods of one year each.
Wigan Council delivers approximately 12,300 bins per annum to
residents. These are provided in four different: namely, grey
(residual waste), blue (paper and card), brown (mixed recycling)
and green (food and garden). Each coloured bin is available to
residents in either 140L or 240L sizes.
The contract will involve the production, storage and delivery of
wheeled bins on a continuous basis over the contracted period. It
is estimated that an artic load of bins will be required every 2-3
weeks.
Decision
That the Portfolio Holder for Planning, Environmental Services
and Transport
authorise:
(1)
the award of Wigan Council’s Contract to provide two wheeled
bins services to the successful contractor identified in the report
for one year, with the option to extend for two separate periods of
one year (1+1+1); and
(2)
the Assistant Director – Legal, Governance and Elections to
enter into any agreements necessary to facilitate the above on
behalf of the Council.
