Purpose
Our Health and
Wellbeing Board has a vision for improving health which is at the
heart of all partners approach to addressing social, economic and
health inequalities. The Healthier Wigan Partnership brings
together the main health and care providers in the borough across
Primary, Community, Mental Health, Social Care and the hospital to
deliver joined up, sustainable health and care services that meet
the needs of local residents and improve the population’s
health in the longer term.
To achieve our collective ambitions a Consultant in Public
Health post has been established which provides public health
leadership and expertise to the Healthier Wigan Partnership through
an integrated arrangement between Wigan Council and Wigan,
Wrightington and Leigh (WWL) Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation
Trust.
This decision secures the investment and arrangements for WWL
to host this post.
Decision
The Portfolio Holder for Adult
Social Care and Health authorises:-
(1)
the funding for the Consultant in
Public Health post to be provided to Wigan Wrightington and Leigh
Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust on the terms set out in the
Funding Agreement, the substantive form of which is set out at
Appendix 1 to the report; and
(2)
the Assistant Director –
Legal, Governance and Elections to enter into any agreements
necessary to facilitate (1) above on behalf of the
Council.
