Purpose

Description:
Waste services are seeking a decision to appoint a supplier
to provide compostable liners.

Wigan Council delivers approximately 19,000 rolls of
compostable liners per month to residents. These are provided to be
used within a kitchen caddy to aid the recycling of food
waste.

The contract will involve the production, storage and
delivery of compostable liners. This will involve monthly
deliveries to the Makerfield Depot, fortnightly deliveries to Wigan
Life Centre and six-monthly deliveries to Leigh Life
Centre.

 

Decision

 The Director – Environment
authorises:
 

(1)    
the award of the contract to supply compostable liners to the
successful supplier detailed in the report; and

(2)    
the Assistant Director – Legal, Governance &
Elections to enter into such documentation behalf of the Council to
give effect to (1).
