Purpose

This report will
present the proposed revisions to the Council’s Allocations
Policy for social housing, outlining the key changes and the
rationale behind them. The updated policy aims to ensure a fair,
transparent, and needs-based approach to allocating council
housing, reflecting current housing demand, legislative
requirements, and local priorities. It seeks to improve access for
those in greatest need, enhance clarity in eligibility and
prioritisation criteria, and support the efficient use of housing
stock to better meet the diverse needs of residents.
