Purpose

The
Government’s 2025 Spending Review introduced funding for up
to 350 places to strengthen communities, including 95 areas
selected for the Pride in Place Impact Fund. Wigan has been
selected as one of these places.

Local authorities, working with MPs and stakeholders, will
manage investments to boost pride, attract private investment, and
enhance health and well-being through upgraded facilities and
public spaces.

 

Decision

The Executive
Leader (Portfolio Holder for Economic Development and Regeneration)
authorises:-
 

(1)    
acceptance of the grant allocation for the amount of
£1,500,000 on the terms of the Grant Determination Letter and
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU); and

(2)    
the Assistant Director - Legal, Governance and Elections on
behalf of the Council, to enter into any agreements necessary to
facilitate the above.
