Purpose

The refreshed
Wigan Housing Strategy sets out our housing ambitions and plans for
2026 to 2031, building on the successes of The Deal 2030 and the
2020 Housing Strategy whilst reflecting our Progress with Unity
missions and the latest housing needs data.

The Strategy promotes a truly equitable, inclusive housing
sector, with a focus on housing growth, including increased
affordable, specialist and older persons options, alongside
investment into our own housing stock and the strengthening of core
landlord services. It will help to shape the work and initiatives
of our housing services for the next five years, and set the tone
– of genuine co-production – in relation to how we
engage with our housing partners, residents and
businesses.
