Purpose

Wigan Councils
current contract with Aon UK Ltd for Tenants Home Contents
Insurance extension expires on the 31st March 2026.

The proposed new contract which has been through competitive
tender via a framework with the Northern House Consortium via Marsh
Ltd (the councils current insurance brokers).

The proposed contract is for 4 years and ensures that Wigan
Council can make available provisions for Home Contents Insurance
to Council Housing Tenants.
 

Decision

The Portfolio
Holder - Housing and Welfare authorises:-
 

(1)        
the awarding of a four-year Tenants’ Home Contents
Insurance contract to the provider, and on the terms, described in
the report; and

(2)        
the Assistant Director, Legal Governance and Elections to
enter into such documentation on behalf of the Council to give
effect to 1.
