Purpose
This report
provides an update on Sites of Biological Importance (SBI)
designations within the borough. SBI’s are subject to a
review process by the Greater Manchester Ecology Unit on behalf of
the ten councils in Greater Manchester, including Wigan. This
update relates to the latest available review which was undertaken
in 2022.
Decision
The Portfolio
Holder for Planning, Environmental Services and Transport approves
the changes to the register of Sites of Biological Importance so
that they can be taken into consideration for planning
purposes.
