Purpose

The development
of the Housing with Care Goods and Services Framework is intended
to establish a strong partnership with like-minded businesses who
share Wigan’s values, attitudes and behaviours and
demonstrates a commitment to Community Wealth
Building.

This framework will serve as a vital channel for obtaining
goods and services that assist the Borough’s most vulnerable
residents. It is designed to support individuals in setting up
their homes and, through an ongoing programme of works, help them
maintain independence and live safely within their
community.

Under this agreement, the Client or their representative
shall retain full discretion in selecting the supplier(s) from whom
household goods and/or services are to be sourced.
 

Decision

The Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care:-

 

(1)    
authorises the establishment of ‘The Housing with Care
Goods and Services Framework’ and authorises the appointment
of those providers named in the report onto the new Framework which
will commence on 1 April 2026;

(2)    
delegates authority to the Director, Innovation and Finance
for the acceptance and approval of both the actual expenditure
through the framework for the previous twelve months and the
forecast expenditure for the forthcoming twelve months;
and

(3)    
approves the Assistant Director - Legal, Governance and
Elections to enter into any agreements necessary on behalf of the
Council to facilitate 1.
