Purpose
GP practices are key local providers of sexual health care. As part of our statutory responsibilities under the Local Authorities (Public Health Functions and Entry to Premises by Local Healthwatch Representatives) Regulations 2013, Wigan Council commissions GP practices within the borough to deliver Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) specifically coils and implants, on an any willing provider basis as a Locally Enhanced Service.
We are seeking to provide GPs with updated, revised contracts for this delivery.
Decision
The Deputy Director Public Health authorises:-
(1) the appointment of GP practices to deliver Locally Enhanced Services for Long Acting Reversible Contraception; and
(2) the Chief Legal Officer to enter into such documentation on behalf of the Councils to give effect to 1.
