Purpose

On 7 July 2022, Cabinet delegated authority to the Director - Place, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Planning, Environmental Services and Transport, for the approval to award the construction contract of Phase 3 of the Wigan to Standish Walking and Cycling Network schemes (minute 14 refers).

Decision

The Portfolio Holder for Planning, Environmental Services and Transport approves: 

(1)         the delivery of Phase 3 of the ‘Wigan to Standish - Walking and Cycling Network’ scheme as outlined in the report;

(2)         the use of Section 106 (Standish Infrastructure Levy) funding to deliver Phase 3 of the scheme as outlined in the report;

(3)         the appointment of the contractor identified in the report to construct the first part of Phase 3 of the ‘Wigan to Standish - Walking and Cycling Network’ scheme;

(4)         the delegation of authority to the Director - Place in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Planning, Environmental Services and Transport to take all decisions necessary in relation to the appointment of any contractor selected to undertake the project works including but not limited to tender acceptance and the award of contract to the successful bidding contractor; and 

(5)         the Assistant Director – Legal, Governance and Elections to enter into any agreements necessary to facilitate the above.
