Purpose

Wigan Council will appoint an external specialist consultant to undertake a comprehensive review of sheltered housing accommodation. The review will assess current performance, demand, building suitability, resident needs, future investment requirements and options for service delivery. The findings will support evidence-based decision making and ensure resources are targeted effectively.

Decision

The Portfolio Holder for Housing and Welfare authorises:-

(1)  the award of the contract for the Sheltered Housing Review and Options Appraisal to the successful Consultant identified in the report;

(2)  delegation of authority to the Assistant Director – Property and Assets to take all steps necessary to facilitate the delivery of the contract, including but not limited to any permitted contract modifications or variations; and

(3)  the Chief Legal Officer to enter into any agreements on behalf of the Council necessary to facilitate 1 and 2.
