Purpose

To provide an annual update to cabinet and
full council on the council's response to the climate emergency. A
requirement of the resolution Feb 2019 to report, and amended to
annual reporting in Oct 2023.

That Cabinet notes:

The actions taken in response to the climate
emergency following the last update in October 2024;

The progress set out in:

i.              
the council’s annual Greenhouse
Gas Report

ii.            
the Monitoring Report and KPI
scorecard, and,

iii.            
the direction of travel for
2026.
 
Reason for
decision:
 
To provide Cabinet with an update on the progress
made over the past year in response to the climate emergency and
progress towards carbon neutrality.
 
To highlight the
headlines of action towards the Wiltshire Council’s climate
ambition for the council and the county and to provide a preview of
the direction of travel, which will inform the Climate Delivery
Plan 2026.
