- Delegation to the Director of Assets, Highways and Transport after consultation with the Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Regeneration and Assets to approve and enter into the construction contract for the Central Area Depot, Melksham and any other contracts as relevant to the delivery of the project. Anticipated to be February 2027.

- Should the tenders not achieve a tender price within the November 2023Cabinet approved budget for Central Depot, a further report will be brought back to Cabinet. Anticipated to be March 2027.
Reason for Decisions:
Wiltshire Council is seeking to procure a construction contractor for the Central
Area Depot, Melksham. A Procurement Strategy has been drafted which
supports the most appropriate processes to follow. The Procurement Strategy
will ensure that the route to market meets the clients’ requirements in achieving
value for money, maintains programme certainty and complies with full public
procurement requirements, whilst responding to current market conditions and
identified cost pressures.
The Strategy has been refined over the several months and has culminated in
soft market engagement with prospective suppliers. This has informed the final
processes to be applied.
