Decision
I announce the intention to award the grants set out in this report, following approval from the Area Board Members.
If you have any representations on this matter please contact me by 26 June 2026.
Reasons for the decision
At its meeting on 18 June 2026 Trowbridge Area Board considered
As the report was not available five clear days’ before the meeting, the Board was unable to formally award the grants at the meeting, but has indicated which ones it supported.
The number of extent of the grants is also such that the Strategic Engagement and Partnerships Manager to take the decision to award all of the grants in consultation with the Members of the Area Board under delegated arrangements.
Whilst an extraordinary meeting could conceivably be arranged, it is not considered a practical or reasonable option to arrange what would be a very short meeting solely for the purposes of considering grants on which the Board Members have already indicated their preferred view.
Accordingly the Leader has agreed to take the decision under his executive authority, given the Members of the Area Board indicate they are happy for the grants to be approved and recommendations endorsed.
Alternative options considered
The Members of Trowbridge Area Board approved the above grants and other awards at their meeting on 18 June 2025. However, for reasons given below, the decisions require additional confirmation.
