Reasons for the decision

To ensure shared ownership properties are handed over in the best possible condition to new purchasers, Quelch Grounds & Garden Maintenance are commissioned to cut the lawns of the unoccupied shared ownership properties, on the Cardiff Close, Chippenham development on a regular basis.

Considering the work they are commissioned for on this development, Quelch Grounds & Garden

Maintenance have been approached to quote for weeding maintenance of 3, 5, 4, 6 Cardiff Close, Chippenham.

The maintenance will include the following: Weeding and tidying of debris

Cost of works have been redacted.

The cost accepted, being below £24,999, the Council’s procurement regulations are satisfied by going to one contractor. Copy of the invoice is attached to this Record of Officer Decision. The contractors have been engaged to ensure they adhere to the Council’s standard terms and
conditions for services.

Alternative options considered

To not carry out the maintenance of the paths and shrubbed areas, would leave the new shared ownership properties’ gardens and outside areas in a poor condition, leaving the new purchaser to complete the work which would not reflect well on Wiltshire Council.
