Decision

1. To approve the contract extension of Specialist Safeguarding Training delivery for schools for academic year 2026-27. The annual cost for 1 September 2026 to 31 July 2027 is £25,020 plus VAT based on a daily rate of £695 plus VAT, with 34 training days and 2 days for course renewal (36 days in total). This is a £20 plus VAT increase per day based on the academic year 2025-26 daily rate of £675 plus VAT.
   
   2.To authorise the council's Procurement or Legal Services to sign the letter of variation extending the contract on behalf of the Council.
   
   

Reasons for the decision

BrightCore Consultancy Limited have worked with Wiltshire Safeguarding Team for 4 years and have a strong understanding of Wiltshire safeguarding processes and support. They offer bespoke training based on our needs. If we were to use an alternative supplier, this would have further cost implications around training and quality assurance.
