Purpose

1.     To consider the comments received following the formal advertisement of a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO hereafter) proposing the introduction of:

·       20mph speed limit on UC 007901 Tithe Barn Lane, Lyneham and Bradenstoke and C129 Hollow Way, Lyneham and Bradenstoke

·       30mph speed limit on C129 Hollow Way, Lyneham and Bradenstoke

·       40mph speed limit B4069, Dauntsey

2.     To recommend proceeding with the introduction of the TRO as advertised.

DECISION MADE

I approve that:

(i) The proposals be implemented as advertised.

(ii) The objectors be advised accordingly.

This decision was published on 23 July 2026 and will come into force on 31 July 2026.

Reasons for the decision

Council’s proposals are supported by the elected Wiltshire Councillors, Lyneham and Bradenstoke Parish Council, Dauntsey Parish Council and all respondents who commented during the consultation period.

Proposals are in accordance with Priorities 2, 5 and 7 of the Council’s Business Plan.

Alternative options considered

To:

(i)       Implement the proposed TRO as advertised.

(ii)       Amend the proposed TRO in consideration of the comments received

(iii)      Abandon the proposals.
