Authorise the Strategic Procurement Hub to execute the following contract, in relation to the construction works at Churchfields Depot:
• JCT Minor Works Building Contract 2024 Edition between Wiltshire Council & Rigg Construction.

Reasons for the decision

The Welfare Improvements at Churchfields Depot are required to ensure continued provision of suitable and compliant welfare facilities for the users of the site. Current welfare facilities are end-of-life and insufficient to meet the expansion of staff numbers operating from the site over the coming years, notably the increase as a result of the Food Waste Collection requirements. The welfare facilities will be replaced and capacity increased. The associated foul drainage and infrastructure in
the depot also requires redesign and renovation to meet modern sewerage and discharge requirements and to accommodate the increase in use driven by the expansion of depot operational services.

The project will be majority funded from the FM Operational Estate capital budget. Some spend will be funded from the Assets
Revenue budget.

Following a tender exercise we have successfully identified a preferred contractor and a competitive solution to delivering this contract.

This appointment is a construction contract, JCT Minor Works Building Contract 2024 Edition between Wiltshire Council & Rigg Construction. The total cost of these services is [redacted].

A decision to proceed with this appointment will enable building works to be completed to ensure that the statutory waste service can continue to be provided.
