About

The Audit and Governance Committee oversees the council's financial and governance arrangements. It acts as the council's audit committee, agreeing and monitoring the internal audit plan, and considering the work of external auditors. The committee also reviews risk management, approves financial statements, and oversees treasury management.

In addition, it promotes high standards of conduct among councillors and staff, reviews codes of conduct, and deals with complaints related to members' standards. It also has oversight of human resources functions for specified officers and handles disciplinary matters where committee involvement is required.
