Cabinet Committee: Housing

The Cabinet Committee: Housing is responsible for exercising executive functions related to the Council's Housing Revenue Account and Strategic Housing Services. It oversees the housing revenue account business plan, including the affordable housing development programme, and monitors housing and homelessness strategies.

The committee approves the annual business plan for the wholly owned Housing Company and advises on shareholder agreement matters. It also approves or modifies policy and budget frameworks for the Council Plan, Housing Strategy, and the 10-year Housing Development Programme, including funding requirements and rental policies. The committee reviews the performance of housing companies, agrees land disposals, and monitors the Council's performance and resource use in housing provision.
