About
The Economy and Housing Policy Committee scrutinises policy and budget proposals related to the Council Plan's priority areas of 'Thriving Places' and 'Good Homes for All'.
It assists the Council, Leader, and Cabinet by analysing policy issues, conducting research and consultation, and making recommendations. The committee questions Cabinet members and senior officers on proposals affecting its remit and reviews the impact of existing policies. Its focus includes making the district attractive for residents, visitors, and sustainable business, as well as increasing affordable housing and ensuring council homes are decent, safe, and energy-efficient.
