The Central Winchester Regeneration Informal Policy Group was responsible for developing a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) to guide the regeneration of central Winchester. This document aimed to set out detailed objectives for the area and consequential changes to surrounding streets, aligning with the Local Plan. The group was tasked with engaging the community, including residents, businesses, and service providers, to gather evidence and assess implications for the SPD's content. It also recommended necessary technical and economic studies and evaluated options before proposing a draft SPD to Cabinet for adoption. The group's role was to inform public debate and ensure the SPD was commercially realistic and implementable.
