Purpose
Wirral Council has received confirmation that
the provisional Drug and Alcohol Treatment, Recovery and
Improvement Grant (DATRIG) funding has now been formally approved
by the DHSC, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and His
Majesty’s Treasury. This report updates the Adult Social Care
and Public Health Committee on the final grant allocations and
seeks authority for further contractual arrangements from 1st July
2025. This will ensure the continuation of essential supplementary
service delivery to tackle drug-related harms during 25/26.
This report is a key decision because it affects all wards and
relates to financial decisions in excess of £500,000.
Decision
Resolved –
That
(1) the final funding allocation of £4,487,772
for 2025/26 for the Drug and Alcohol Treatment and Recovery
Improvement Grant be approved,
(2) the utilisation
of the Individual Placement Support grant totalling £159,614
be approved,
(3) the variation of
the contract with Change, Grow, Live Services Limited for the
provision of drug and alcohol treatment and recovery services as
provided for in paragraph 3.3 of this report for the period 1 July
2025 to 31 March 2026, with an increase to the contract value of
£2,218,691 be approved.
