Decision

The Interim Director of Operations has approved the award of a contract to Vivedia Limited following an open tender process for the provision of music, webcasting, and visual tribute services within Wirral Cemeteries and Landican Crematorium for a period of 3 years with the option to extend for up to two additional years in annual increments with effect from 19 January 2026 at a total contract value of £208,677.17.

Reasons for the decision

This contract is required to ensure the continued provision of high-quality, sensitive, and accessible bereavement services to families and funeral directors across Wirral.

The services provided, including music, visual tributes, and webcasting, are integral to delivering personalised and inclusive funeral experiences.

A full open tender process was undertaken in accordance with the Council’s Contract Procedure Rules, ensuring compliance, transparency, and best value. Two bids were received and evaluated against the following criteria:

  • Quality – 40%
  • Price – 50%
  • Social Value – 10%

Vivedia (Obitus) achieved the highest overall score and demonstrated the necessary specialist expertise and sector experience to deliver this service effectively.

The contract is within the approved budget and ensures continuity of service provision at Landican Crematorium and Wirral Cemeteries.

Alternative options considered

An in-house provision was considered; however, this option was not viable due to the specialist technical requirements and infrastructure needed to deliver music, visual tribute, and webcasting services.

Alternative suppliers were assessed as part of the procurement exercise, with Vivedia (Obitus) scoring highest across quality, price, and social value, representing the most advantageous solution.
