Purpose

Following consultation on the scope and on draft versions earlier in 2026, this report will recommend for adoption the final versions of two Supplementary Planning Documents on Householder Development and Residential Development

Decision

Resolved – That

1. 1.  The following Supplementary Planning Documents be adopted:

a.  The final Householder Development Supplementary Planning Document at Appendix 3 to the report; and

b.  The final Designing for Residential Development Supplementary Planning Document at Appendix 6 to the report.

1. 2.  The following Supplementary Planning Guidance Notes and Supplementary Planning Document be revoked:

a.  Supplementary Planning Guidance Note 10 – Backland Development;

b.  Supplementary Planning Guidance Note 11 – House Extensions; and

c.  Supplementary Planning Document 2 - Designing for Self-Contained Flat Development and Conversions.

1. 3.  the above recommendations be deemed urgent and not subject to the procedure for reconsideration.
