Purpose

The proposed changes form a key element of the Council's wider transformation programme for Home to School Transport, designed to improve the consistency, transparency, efficiency and long-term sustainability of transport provision whilst ensuring continued compliance with statutory duties.

Decision

Resolved – That

1. 1.  The revised Assisted Travel Policy attached as Appendix 1 to this report be approved;
2. 2.  The associated new SEND Transport Assessment Framework attached as Appendix 2 to this report be approved; and
3. 3.  A full re-application process for Home to School Travel Assistance during the 2026/27 academic year with exception of those families already in receipt of a personal transport budget be approved.
