About

The Audit and Governance Committee oversees the council's financial integrity and ethical conduct. It promotes and monitors high standards of conduct for councillors and co-opted members, advising on and enforcing the Members' Code of Conduct. The committee also acts as the council's Audit Committee, approving audit plans, reviewing audit reports and recommendations, and ensuring effective relationships between internal and external auditors. It oversees risk management, anti-fraud, whistleblowing strategies, and health and safety practices, and receives the Annual Governance Statement.
