About
The Woking Licensing Committee is responsible for all council functions related to licensing and registration across a wide range of activities. This includes overseeing licenses for public entertainment, cinemas, theatres, and animal welfare. The committee also handles licensing for hackney carriage and private hire vehicles, sex establishments, and betting, gaming, and lotteries. Further responsibilities cover caravan and camping sites, food preparation, markets, street trading, night cafes, takeaway food shops, and the registration of door staff. It also manages licensing for hypnotism and premises used for acupuncture, tattooing, ear-piercing, and electrolysis, as well as health and safety aspects outside the council's direct operational capacity.
