September 9, 2025 Strategic Director - Place and Digital (Officer) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
ENVIRONMENT ACT 1995, PART IV (AS AMENDED)
Decision
To revoke the Guildford Road AQMA Order, for the section of Guildford Road where it meets Constitution Hill and Mount Hermon Road.
Reasons for the decision
Levels of NO2 on Guildford Road, which was designated an Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) in May 2017, have reduced significantly over time. Measured concentrations at Guildford Road have been compliant with the National Air Quality Objectives (AQO) consistently over the last five years, since 2020. As per Government guidance, and the guidelines stated in the AQAP for Guildford Road, the designation of an AQMA should be revoked following three consecutive years of compliance with the AQO.
