Resolved

That (i)   the proposed
amendments to the Council’s Constitution as set out in
Appendices 1 and 2 to the report be approved; and

        (ii) the
Council’s Director of Legal and Democratic Services be
authorised to update the Constitution with the changes set out in
Appendices 1 and 2 of the report; and

       
(iii)  paragraph 2.12 – Local
Government Reorganisation be amended to read:

The Chief Executive is authorised to lead
negotiations on behalf of the Council in respect of Local
Government Reorganisation and take any urgent decisions in respect
of Local Government Reorganisation which are required in the best
interests of the Council, in consultation with the Leader and
Chairs of the Scrutiny Committees, as matters progress towards
the creation of a unitary authority.
