Purpose

To consider agreeing an initial position on the split of government grants for submission to MHCLG.

Decision

RESOLVED That

(i)         subject to the agreement of the East Surrey Shadow Executive, the proposed disaggregation of settlement funding, as set out in tables 2 to 4 of Annex A of the report, be agreed;

(ii)        the proposed Alternative Notional Amounts of 2026/27 Band D council tax level, as set out in Annex B of the report, be agreed;

(iii)        the alternative apportionment proposed by Surrey Fire & Rescue Service’s Chief Fire Officer in Annex D (para 6.21) of the report be noted;

(iv)       authority be delegated to the Interim Head of Paid Service, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Finance, to agree final settlement funding amounts; and

(v)        subject to the same resolution being passed by the East Surrey Shadow Executive, the Interim Head of Paid Service be authorised to submit a joint letter from East Surrey, West Surrey and Surrey County Council to MHCLG by the deadline of 18 September 2026.
