Purpose

For Executive Committee to agree to the procurement of supported local bus service and the associated budget.

Decision

That the Executive:

1)    agrees to the tender of 21 local bus services and the recommissioning of enhanced community transport services, as detailed in Annex A, for a five-year contract period,

2)    agrees to the release of any appropriate S106 developer funding, as detailed in Part 2, to support any decisions made in recommendation 1.

3)    agrees to the use of any appropriate grant funding available during the contract period, to support any decisions made in recommendation 1.

4)    acknowledges the financial risk should future bus grant not be available, as detailed in Part 2, though break clauses in the contract will exist.

5)    agrees to delegate the authority to award contracts for community transport services, “core local bus services” and any optional or enhanced local services for which there is sufficient budget, to the Director of Place & Growth in consultation with the Section 151 Officer and the Executive Member for Active Travel, Transport and Highways.
