Reasons for the decision

Decision is taken in the context of the Council needing to ensure to secure best value from the Council’s assets – the
value that could be introduced into the Council’s annual budget to help fund other Council services/projects; weighed against site specific circumstances that may otherwise indicate that a site is not suitable or conducive to development. The level of value that could be generated or foregone from the decision is multi-million.

Alternative options considered

The September 2023 Executive report sets out the site options considered and the pros and cons of promoting them to or withdrawing them from the Local Plan process.
