About

The Health Scrutiny Panel is responsible for scrutinising health provision in Wolverhampton, in line with legislation and government guidance. It examines health-related issues in partnership with Public Health, the NHS, Integrated Care Boards, the Health and Wellbeing Board, Healthwatch, and neighbouring authorities.

The panel initiates responses to consultations on substantial service developments or variations from NHS trusts and commissioners. It can also make reports and recommendations to relevant NHS bodies, health service providers, the Secretary of State, or regulators. The panel's work may involve reviewing data on public health outcomes, such as alcohol-specific mortality, physical inactivity, domestic abuse incidents, and suicide rates.
