Purpose

Temporary enforcement provision for the summer period to provide additional visibility and enforcement in key locations for public reassurance and to enforce the conditions of the Public Place Protection Orders.

Decision

1. Approved budget of up to £200,000 from the Our City: Our Plan reserve to provide up to six officers and one compliance post to ensure there is sufficient visible presence and enforcement of the Public Place Protection Orders in both the City Centre and Bentley Bridge. Providing cover for an initial period of 16 weeks, to be extended if required and remaining within the overall approved budget commitment from reserves of up to £200,000.
