Decision
- That all necessary virements of senior leadership budgets to reflect the changes proposed within this report be approved, noting that overall these changes are delivered within existing senior leadership budgets and result in no additional costs.
- That the establishment and recruitment to the Director of City Housing (Grade 14) subject to job evaluation be approved.
- That the establishment and recruitment to the Director of Neighbourhoods and Highways (Grade 14) and delete the post of Director of Resident Services following a review of the Senior Management Structure be approved.
- That the establishment and recruitment to the Deputy Director of Regulation & Compliance (Grade 13) subject to job evaluation be approved.
- That acting up payments proposed to provide additional capacity at senior management level and to support a ‘grow our own’ development opportunity in respect of the Deputy Chief Executive role be approved. This reflects the requirement to provide cover for two days per week, including finance responsibilities, arising from the reduction in hours of the Deputy Chief Executive (Section 151 Officer) due to Flexible Retirement.
- That a Special Appointment Committees be convened to appoint to all vacant and approved Director posts as contained within this report as per the Council’s Constitution.
- That it be noted, the review of senior management structures ensures we have the right strategic capacity at the right time to deliver this Council’s ambitious and challenging priorities and Our City, Our Plan.
- That it be noted, the Director of People Services be redesignated Director of People & Transformation (no budget implications).
- That it be noted, the Executive Director of Economy be redesignated to Executive Director of Place (no budget implications).
- That it be noted, the permanent recruitment to the vacant and established Director of City Development post.
- That it be noted, the Pay Policy statement would be updated to incorporate the changes contained within this report.
