Purpose
This IEDN seeks approval to establish a draw down grant agreement with Refugee and Migrant Centre to provide support for people arriving by Government approval safe and legal route - The Afghan Resettlement Programme. As per the Home Office funding instructions and grant received by the local authority, all persons arriving via this scheme have access to 2 years wrap around support.
Decision
Approve the grant payment to Refugee and Migrant Centre (RMC), providing three years of support to up to 45 new arrivals received during financial year 2026-2027. There will be three year support payments for each new arrival starting on the first payment date, at a cost of up to a maximum of £317,000, for the grant agreement period in total. The Council is to enter into a Grant Agreement for 2026-2030 to cover payments over a three year period based on first payment dates of each new arrival accordingly.
