About

The Overview and Scrutiny Committee examines and reviews the work of Wyre Borough Council's Cabinet and its overall operations. It conducts in-depth reviews, producing reports and recommendations to advise the Council on its policies, budget, and how services are delivered.

This committee also monitors decisions made by the Cabinet. If four councillors request it, a decision can be 'called-in' for the Overview and Scrutiny Committee to review its appropriateness before implementation. The committee can then recommend that the Cabinet or a Portfolio Holder reconsider the decision. It may also be tasked with undertaking specific reviews or responding to consultations.
