Purpose
To allocate funding towards programme of support for economically inactive residents, improving employability across the borough.
Decision
The Director of Transformation and Change submitted a report to seek approval to award grant funding from the Investment Projects Reserve to enable continued delivery of a programme of employment support to Wyre residents who are economically inactive.
Decision
The Planning Policy and Economic Development Portfolio Holder and Resources Portfolio Holder agreed:
· That approval is given to fund a programme at a cost of up to £42,500 for 2026/27 and up to £42,500 for 2027/28.
· That for provision in 2026/27 approval is given to extend the contract with the ‘Volunteer Centre Blackpool Wyre and Fylde’ (hereafter referred to as Volunteer Centre) under the exemption to the Contract Procedures contained within the Financial Procedure Rules on the basis of Extension.
· That authorisation is given to the Director of Transformation and Change to reprocure a provider of the service for 2027/28 and to enter into a suitable contract for delivery of a programme of economic support to economically inactive Wyre residents.
