As the licensee was not present at the meeting, Councillor Anthony Barker moved that the hearing proceed in their absence, which was seconded by Councillor Guy Rogers and agreed by the committee. Following deliberation, the committee resolved to revoke the private hire driver's licence and issue a public safety warning. The decision was made in accordance with Section 100(a)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, with the press and public excluded due to the likely disclosure of exempt information where the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighed the public interest in disclosure.
