During the discussion, Councillor Mark Johnson expressed that he struggled to find any reason to refuse the application, noting that the previous concerns that led to a refusal of a similar application were no longer relevant. Councillor Rowenna Davis agreed, stating that the proposed alterations were modest and would not cause harm to neighbours. She added that the patio and rear extension would not be visible from the street and that a privacy screen condition would be imposed.

The committee voted to grant planning permission for the development. The motion to grant the application was proposed by Councillor Johnson and seconded by Councillor Shortland. The decision was carried unanimously.
